Job Title: Senior Platform Engineer
Salary: Up to £95,000 base + 15% bonus + benefits
Location: Croydon / Reigate area, hybrid working with 2 days onsite per week
Work Type: Permanent
Role
WeDo is partnering with a global technology organisation looking for a Senior Platform Engineer to join the team responsible for the maintenance and continued evolution of its flagship SaaS platform.
This is a genuinely high-scale engineering environment. The platform processes over 32 million requests every day, operates across 5 global deployment nodes and runs against a 99.95% availability SLA.
The challenge is not simply building new infrastructure. You will be helping evolve an established, business-critical SaaS platform where reliability, scalability and maintaining availability while making changes are fundamental.
The environment is Azure only, with Kubernetes at the heart of the platform.
Responsibilities
• Maintain and evolve a large-scale, globally deployed SaaS platform
• Build, operate and improve Azure Kubernetes environments
• Ensure the platform continues to meet its 99.95% availability SLA
• Improve scalability, resilience and operational reliability
• Automate infrastructure and platform changes through Terraform
• Improve deployment processes and reduce the risk of downtime
• Troubleshoot platform, networking and workload issues in production
• Improve monitoring, observability and operational processes
• Work closely with Software Engineering, Security and Architecture teams
Required Skills
Kubernetes / AKS is essential.
You should also have strong experience across:
• Microsoft Azure
• Terraform / Infrastructure as Code
• Azure Front Door
• Azure API Management
• ArgoCD / GitOps
• Renovate
• CI/CD and deployment automation
• Observability and production troubleshooting
• Highly available, business-critical production environments
Experience supporting high-volume SaaS platforms handling millions of requests would be particularly valuable.
Why should I apply?
The scale is what makes this opportunity different.
You will be working on a platform processing 32m+ requests every day across five global deployments, where maintaining a 99.95% SLA while continuing to evolve the technology presents genuine Platform Engineering challenges.
If you enjoy Kubernetes, Azure and Infrastructure as Code but also want responsibility for the reliability and evolution of a platform operating at serious production scale, this is an opportunity to have a meaningful impact.
